For my first Industrial Design Studio 1 assignment, the brief was to design a commode for one of the three settings: camping, music festival or natural disaster. I chose to design a toilet for camping. One of the requirements was that the commode must hold 100kg, resulting in my choice of a hexagon with triangular support beams inside thus combining the two strongest shapes. To accommodate for the human anatomy of both males and females, the seat shape was made to divot in at the middle to support the user's ischial tuberosities and a point at the front to accommodate for the male anatomy.
